Events The Science and Ethics of Stem Cell Research Workshop Presented by the Northwesr Association for Biomedical Research in conjunction with the New jersey Association for Biomedical Research and New jersey Science Education Leadership Association (NJSELA) This 1.5 day workshop for secondary science teachers showcases our latest curriculum. Our activity-based program will address fundamental concepts in stem cell development, etical and societal issues in working with stem cells, and current policies and regulations in the field of stem cell development, ethical and societal issues in working with stem cells, and current policies and regulations in the field of stem research. $25 with credit card or $20 with check. NJ SCIENCE CONVENTION DATES
SUPER SCIENCE WEEKEND The New Jersey State Museum’s annual Super Science Weekend is a weekend-long festival intended to excite children of all ages about science with handson demonstrations and exhibits. This year’s festival will be particularly special, as we kick-off our celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the discovery of “Haddy”, the world’s first nearly complete dinosaur skeleton found anywhere in the world, excavated right here in New Jersey! Super Science Weekend 2008 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 17th – 18th, from 11am – 4pm each day, and is free and open to the public. We would like to extend an invitation to your organization to participate as an exhibitor in our popular festival. Each exhibitor may choose to participate one or both days, and if requested, we will be happy to provide you with tables, chairs, and tablecloths. Click here for brochure. for grade 4-9 teachers, these guided inquiry courses are open nationwide to teachers
at all grade levels. Each course earns
either 1 graduate credit or 30 hours professional development credit.
The courses use only middle school mathematics, and do not require any previous
physics courses.
