NJSTA Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award

2020 Summer Institute

Due to the continuing health concerns and developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, including the continuing state of emergency in New Jersey  and the closure of our Institute site, Kean University, for their summer session, the NJSTA Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award Committee determined that the Institute planned for July 13-17, 2020 will no longer take place.  The health and safety of our Scholar attendees, Presenters, and Committee members remain our top priority.

Those Scholars selected for participation in the 2020 Summer Instititute will still receive Scholarship in the form of a 1 year dual NJSTA/NSTA membership, which includes access to member websites providing Distance Learning and many other curricular resources including the NSTA Learning Center.  Scholars will also receive a one-day admission plus Annual Banquet ticket to the 2020 New Jersey Science Convention (NJSC) scheduled for October 20 and 21 at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.  Selected Scholars will have priority admission to the next Institute should they wish to enroll.

The members of the NJSTA Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award (MPSMA) Committee are thoughtfully exploring options for our 2021 Institute and will announce details as soon as they are available.

Audience:  K-12 Teachers and Leaders of Science as well as Higher Education Faculty
Dates/Times: This five-day Institute will NOT take place this summer.
