The Doris White Memorial Scholarship is being awarded in honor of Dr. Doris Gnauck White, in tribute to her unfailing enthusiasm for, and devotion to, both scientific research and the professional development of teachers. She was a distinguished scientist, an inspiring educator, and a valued friend of New Jersey Science Teachers Association (NJSTA). In 2001, the organization awarded Dr. White its highest honor, the NJSTA Citation Scroll, which cited her willingness to share her expertise with teachers and students to improve science teaching in New Jersey, her ever-constant interest in and research into significant issues in science, her uncanny ability to incant somnolent activity in poultry, her courageous ability to enthusiastically approach life's circumstances with a positive and friendly manner, and her loyalty and leadership in attaining the goals of our association.
